17世紀以来、オランダはインドネシアを植民地として支配してきましたが、第二次世界大戦で日本にボコされ、日本はインドネシアを軍政下に置きました。
1943年には郷土防衛義勇軍（ペタ）が創設され、1945年には独立準備委員会（インドネシア政府の原型）が発足し、彼らは日本の敗北直後に、インドネシア独立を宣言します。
日本政府は降伏後、インドネシアを見捨てる構えを見せてゴタゴタが起きましたが（スマラン事件）、一部の残留日本兵たちがインドネシアを最後まで支持する姿勢を見せました。
そしてイギリス、オランダ両軍の占領の後、西部を掌握したインドネシアはオランダと停戦しますが（リンガジャティ協定）、オランダ軍は警察行為と称してインドネシア軍を潰しに行って各地でインドネシア軍をボコしまくり、臨時首都のジョクジャカルタも陥落させます。
しかしゲリラ化したインドネシア軍の抵抗、そして国際社会（特にアメリカ）の圧力もあり、オランダはインドネシアの独立を認めました（ハーグ円卓会議）。
インドネシアの独立は、インドネシア人と残留日本兵たちの協力、つまり国を越えた助け合いがあったこそ、達成されたと言えます。
こうした自分だけじゃなくて他者のためにも力を尽くすということ（マタイ7:12）を大切にしていきたいものです。
Indonesian National Revolution
Since 17C, Netherlands controlled Indonesia as Colony, but they were beaten up by Japan, and Japan put Indonesia under its Military rule.
On 1943, Defenders of the Homeland (PETA) was established, and on 1945, Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence (PPKI/ Origin of Indonesian Government) was established, and they declared Independence of Indonesia immediately after Defeat of Japan.
Japan showed Stance of adandone Indonesia after its surrender, and it caused collision (Battle of Semarang), but some Japanese Holdouts showed Stance of Support Indonesia till the end.
And after occupation by Armies of UK and Netherland, Indonesia took control Western and ceasefired with Netherland (Linggadjati Agreement), but Netherlands begin beat up Indonesian Army as "Police action", and beat up Indonesian Army in many places, and overthrown Provisional Capital Yokyakarta.
But by Resistance of Indonesian Army that became Guerrilla, and Pressure of International Society (Especially US), Netherlands recognized Independence of Indonesia (Dutch-Indonesian Round Table Conference).
Independence of Indonesia can be said to have been achieved by Cooperation between Indonesians and Japan Holdouts, mutual helps above Nation.
I want to cherish surrender itself for others, not for only itself (Matthew 7:12).
