1980年代に欧米との各地（アフガニスタン、中米、アンゴラ、カンボジア）での代理戦争と計画経済（自由なビジネス不可）で国力を低下させたソ連で、1985年にゴルバチョフがリーダーになりました。
彼は色々自由を拡大し（ペレストロイカ）、アメリカとの対立を終わらせました（マルタ会談）が、これが自由を口実にした欧米の勢力拡張に使われたため、保守派（ヤナーエフなど）がブチギレました。
そしてソ連が実質解体されよう（新連邦条約）としたため、保守派がクーデターを決行し、休暇でクリミアにいたゴルバチョフを監禁し、実権を握りました（国家非常事態委員会）。
しかし改革派（エリツィンなど）がブチギレ、国家非常事態委員会と衝突して勝利しました。
これでソ連はオワコン化し、さらに構成国が次々と離反し、ついにソ連は滅亡しました。
これはゴルバチョフが、ソ連の主権の範囲内で自由と秩序を両立させていれば起こらなかった悲劇なのですが、終末に至るロシア（ソ連リーダー）と欧米の決裂の引き金となる、旧ソ連圏内の紛争（ウクライナ紛争など）の下地を作ったというところがポイントです。

In USSR that declineed its Power by Proxy Wars in many areas (Afghanistan, Central America, Angola, Cambodia) & Planned Economy (Free Business is impossible), Gorbachev became Leader on 1985.
He expaded Liberty in many parts (Perestroika) & ended Conflict with US (Malta Summit), but it was used by Westerns for expansion of their Power, so Conservatives (Yanayev etc.) angered.
And USSR was about to be dismantled in fact (New Federation Treaty), so Conservatives carried out Coup, & imprisoned Gorbachev who was in Crimea for Vacation & took power (GKChP).
But Reformists (Yeltsin etc.) angered & conflicted wth GKChP & won.
By this, USSR lost its Power & Member Nations estranged, & finally USSR was destroyed.
This was tragedy that never be happened if Gorbachev compatible Liberty & Order in Sovereignty of USSR, but the point is it became the base of Decisive Conflict between Russia (Leader of USSR) & Westerns till The End through Conflicts in Former USSR Area (Ukraine Conflict etc.).
