1969年、中国軍がダマンスキー（珍宝）島など3カ所（19世紀の国境取り決めの対象外でした）でソ連軍にケンカを売り、両者はボコし合い、核兵器の打ち込み合いに発展しそうになったので、ソ連が努力して停戦しました。
この紛争で中国は、ソ連と仲悪いアピールをしてアメリカとくっつくことに成功しました。
また決められていなかった一部国境は、1990年代から2000年代に決められました（ソ連の後継ロシアの善意により、中国有利）。
中国がソ連にケンカを売らず、初めから話し合いで国境を決めていれば、起こらなかった紛争です。

1956, Chinese Army attacked USSR Army in 3 places like Damansky (Zhenbao) Island (Not subject to border arrangements on 19C), so both beat up each other & escalated to drop Nuclear each others, so USSR made effort & ceasefire through it.
China successful to connect with US by appeal on bad relation with USSR in this Conflict.
Some border that didn't be arranged was decided on 1990s-2000s (China advantage by Goodwill of Russia successor of USSR).
If China didn't attacked USSR & arranged Border through dialogue, this conflict was not happened.
